Do I need to install anything?

No. The online till runs in any browser, on a laptop, a tablet or a phone: sign up, add your items and start selling. Qovah Desktop is there for a counter that must keep selling without the internet, and tills you add later join the same business with the same menu, team and numbers.

What does a free start include?

Accepted Answer

You get 14 free days of Cloud Growth, with no card or plan to choose. Start selling in your browser, sync tills, try up to 3 branches, share customers across them, read consolidated reports and get nightly backups. Take cash and record MoMo or card payments collected on your own phone or terminal. WhatsApp ordering is not included. When the trial ends without a plan, selling stops and your records are kept. Choose a plan to carry on.

What happens when the internet goes?

Set up your till online first. A browser verified for offline selling keeps supported sales and receipts on that device while its saved access remains valid, then syncs when the connection returns. An activated Desktop till keeps selling offline within its valid access; purchased covered versions work indefinitely offline. Signup, sync and loyalty redemption need the internet.

Can I take mobile money?

Yes. Collect the payment on your own MoMo phone, then record it at the till with its transaction reference. Qovah keeps it separate from cash and card in your totals. Live Paystack collection through payment links and MoMo prompts is awaiting activation; it is not available for real payments yet.

Question 5

Who pays the processing fee?

Accepted Answer

Recording money collected on your own phone or terminal does not process a payment through Qovah. Your provider's fees still apply. Live Paystack collection is awaiting activation. Its checkout is built to show the processing fee before payment, with the customer paying it by default and an option for the business to carry it.

Question 6

Does my customer get a receipt?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can print a receipt at the till. For a payment collected on your own phone or terminal, check that it arrived before recording the sale. Online payment receipts go by email to the address the customer gives, after Qovah confirms the payment with the provider. Live Paystack collection is awaiting activation, so that online flow is not available for real payments yet.

How does the money reach me?

For payments you collect on your own MoMo phone or card terminal, your provider handles the money as usual. Recording it in Qovah does not move it. Live Paystack collection is awaiting activation. Once available, it will also require a verified payout account and Qovah's approval of your business before you can collect real payments through it.

What does Qovah cost?

Accepted Answer

Cloud Starter is GHS 179 a month or GHS 1,790 a year for one branch; Growth is GHS 379 or GHS 3,790 for 3; Business is GHS 899 or GHS 8,990 for 10. A year costs 10 months. Growth and Business add branches at GHS 99 a month or GHS 990 a year each, up to 20 in total. Qovah Desktop is GHS 599 once for one computer and GHS 199 once for each extra one, with 12 months of updates and lasting use of the versions it covers. Subscriptions renew by card; cancelling keeps your access to the end of the period you paid for, and a failed renewal has seven days of grace. Hardware and setup are quoted for your store.

What happens to my business if I stop paying?

It stops selling, and it's kept. Your items, your team, your customers and everything you sold stay exactly as they are, and buying a plan picks up where you left off, whether that's a week or a year later. A business that has ever sold anything keeps its records for good once a plan ends, because for a shop that only ever used the browser till we hold the only copy. A business that signed up and never sold anything is cleared up after 90 days, with a week's warning first.

Can I run more than one branch?

Yes, from Cloud Growth: 3 branches are included, Business includes 10, and both can add more up to 20 in total. Every branch shares one menu, one team and one set of numbers, and you can read them together or one at a time. Starter covers a single branch and doesn't take branch add-ons. A branch that's been offline may not have sent its latest sales yet, and reports say so rather than quietly leaving them out.

Question 11

Do my customers need an app to collect points?

Accepted Answer

No. A member is found by their phone number at the till, and their points go up with what they spend and come off as money against a later order. There's nothing for them to install, sign up for or carry.

Question 12

Can my staff use it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add managers and cashiers with their own PINs on either till. Cashiers sell; voids, discounts and closing the day need a manager's PIN, and every sale keeps the name of whoever took it. Taking someone off the team keeps their name on what they already did.

Does it work for my kind of business?

Accepted Answer

Qovah sets itself up for restaurants, cafés and bakeries, retail shops, supermarkets, salons and spas, and other services like repairs, laundry and printing. The screens and the words change to suit: menus or products, orders or jobs, customers or clients.

Question 14

Where is my data, and is it safe?

Accepted Answer

On Cloud it's backed up every night and kept 30 days on Starter and Growth, 90 on Business, and you can restore from a backup. Desktop keeps its sales in a folder on your own computer, backed up daily and whenever you close the day, and you can copy a backup to a USB drive or a cloud drive folder. Staff PINs and owner passwords are hashed and kept in your computer's own credential store, outside the database and its backups.

Which computers does Desktop run on?

Accepted Answer

Windows 10 or later (64-bit), and Linux: a .deb for Ubuntu, Debian, Mint and Pop!_OS, and an AppImage for the rest. Desktop for macOS is coming soon. On a Mac, use the till in your browser today.

Question 16

Why does my computer warn me when I install Desktop?

Accepted Answer

Qovah's installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows asks you to confirm the first time you open it. The install guide shows the two clicks it takes. Once Qovah is in the Microsoft Store there'll be nothing to confirm, and Windows will keep it up to date. After that, Qovah updates itself from Settings › Updates.

Question 17

What's coming that isn't out yet?

Storefronts, where customers order from your own page and pay for themselves; ordering on WhatsApp, and an assistant that takes those orders for you; tills for tablets; and an app for owners to run the business from a phone. None of them are released, so nothing on Qovah depends on them today. Coming soon says what each one is, and you can ask to be told when it lands.

Can you set up the hardware too?

Yes. Tell us about your store and we'll get the printers, cash drawer, scanner, computer and power backup it needs, and set them up with Qovah. Hardware and setup are quoted separately from the software. If you already have some of it, we'll work with that.
